Hi - I’m Katie!
I’ve been nerding out about sites and design since my highschool computer teacher finally agreed to make a web design and coding curriculum just for me. (#smalltownschool)
I devoured the information and used it to design and redesign my personal blogs over and over again. (MySpace and LiveJournal anyone?)
Word got out and I began designing occasionally for non-profits and organizations in the area. I’ve always loved understanding the “Why” behind the business and helping it to shine through their online presence.
Despite training and working as a hair stylist for years, maternity leave with my son brought me back to my design roots I’ve always returned to. I saw the need for modern websites that can be managed by the business themselves, instead of being held hostage by a web developer.
I love the transformation process that redesigning a site involves, and the joy of watching a customer realise that it’s so much easier than they think with the right help.
Why Squarespace?
Over the years, I’ve worked with Weebly, Wix, WordPress (what’s with all the Ws?),
but have come back to Squarespace over and over again for 2 simple reasons.

Believe me - majority of the sites I build, prospective clients ask me repeatedly “Are you sure I can learn this?”
A few weeks later, after their live training session, they exclaim “That’s not bad at all! I can do this!” Yes, they can, and you can too.

+ What If I Don't Have A Website Yet?
No problem! In fact, in some cases, this can work to your advantage, as it’s easier to start from scratch than working to remodel one that isn’t working. We will walk you through the registrations and purchases that need to be made, giving you back the hours of trying to figure out which plans are best, and what your website needs are.
+ Technology And I Aren't Friends, Are You Sure I Can Handle This??
I pride myself on sitting down with my mum to help her figure out Facebook and YouTube issues. What we’re saying is, we strive to educate you so well during the process that you walk away ready to teach someone else how to handle your site. During consultations, we always take time to hear what your tech fears are, and let you know what we think your best approach would be. And again, if you don’t want to touch that new site, we can talk about a website maintenance plan.
+ I have a tiny budget... What should I do?
Our prices our built off the volume of value we pour into our projects. After hearing story after story of web designers building sites without consultation or conversations, it became a primary goal of our company to change that narrative. Because of the time, effort, and strategy involved in each custom site, yes, it’s going to cost more than you would pay your niece in high school to throw something together.
That said, we know not everyone can spring full project pricing when starting out. We always offer a complimentary consultation to hear what your vision and goals are for your site. We do offer different payment plan options depending on the needs of your site and the timeline of the project, as well as advice on how your budget could be best put to use in order to maximize your investment. If you have a specific budget, please let us know about it in our meeting so we can draw up services to suit your needs.
+ Why do I need a website?
Great question… a few short answers to that would be:
It represents your business. You want to make a great first impression when potential clients head to your website – are they seeing you at your best, or did your website forget the floss and deodorant? The Internet is not stagnant – it is constantly changing, and upgrading your site is a must. Aesthetics is one part of the picture, but just as important as your looks is what’s on the inside. We only build mobile responsive websites, that are look great regardless of what device they’re viewed on.
